"Mayhem, Money and Mirth" In 2007 our authors looked at the human condition through the lenses of mayhem, money and mirth. Whether pound-wise or penny-foolish, cultures clash and families feud, surviving only by recognizing, with a good laugh, that life is a comedy. |

Charlotte Albright Charlotte Albright was born in rural Pennsylvania, near a crick. (That's "creek," to you New Englanders.) At Bennington College, she aspired to an acting career but somehow ended up with a doctorate in literature at Boston University. After about a decade of part-time teaching, free-lance writing, and mothering, she began reading her essays on Maine Public Radio. By 1994 she was producing and co-hosting Maine Things Considered, a daily MPBN news magazine. She later produced and co-hosting the weekly public affairs program, "MaineWatch." In 2007 she left full-time reporting for academia and free-lance writing. At Lyndon State College in Vermont, she teaches writing, media law, and production. She contributes irregularly (take that as you will) to Down East magazine, Vermont Public Radio and National Public Radio. |
